Windows 10: airpods being quiet after connecting to windows 10

okay i cant seem to find a solution to this and i really need help but i have two sets of airpods 1st gen & 3rd gen i've had the first gen ones for a couple years with no issues and the 3rd gen ones for a couple months without issues. i use my third gen ones with my pc windows 10 and my first gen ones with my phone at work. i recently went to use my third gen with the pc and the left pod was a lot quieter than the right. i checked the sound balance, cleaned them, reset, literally everything google told me to do. nothings worked. then i tried connecting my first gen ones which worked c

Can't connect AirPods with window

I already went into the setting and tried to pair my AirPods with the laptop, but it's doesn't show up on the list. I followed every step that tells on the website. And I already press and hold the button on the AirPods.

 

Connecting airpods

My airpods are saying their connected and I never had a problem before with them. The sound keeps playing through the speaker instead of the airpods but their clearly connected. I really absolutely hate this computer since it was listed as being a good
computer and its complete trash but it never didn't connect and work properly. Its a stupid hp windows 10 if that means anything but shouldn't. I just want to know why it isn't playing through my airpods but says connected.
