Windows 10: Airpods Don't Properly Connect to Laptop

Hello,I have had my pair of Airpods Pro for longer than a year now and whenever I try to connect them to my laptop, it'**** or miss. At first I thought because these were Apple products and my laptop was not, I needed to turn bluetooth off on every Apple product I had near by. But it wasn't really about that. When my Airpods are properly connected to my laptop it says "Sound and music, connected" but when it doesn't work it only says "connected" without the "Sound and music," part. When it only says "connected" the connection is very unstable and it reconnects over and over again. I used to re

Connecting airpods

My airpods are saying their connected and I never had a problem before with them. The sound keeps playing through the speaker instead of the airpods but their clearly connected. I really absolutely hate this computer since it was listed as being a good
computer and its complete trash but it never didn't connect and work properly. Its a stupid hp windows 10 if that means anything but shouldn't. I just want to know why it isn't playing through my airpods but says connected.

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand, Human Interface Devices.
   
3. Look for AirPods Audio/Video Remote Control HID and
   AirPods Hands-Free Call Control HID, right click on each entry and select
   Properties.
   
4. Go to the Power Management Tab, clear the checkbox for
   Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
   
5. Also, repeat step 4 for Bluetooth Low Energy GATT compliant HID.
   
6. Click on OK.

Airpod connection to Surface Book Suddenly Stopped Working

I use a Microsoft Surface Book running Windows 10 Pro. I have connected my airpods to the computer via bluetooth for many months. Suddenly, approximately 10 - 14 days ago, the connection stopped working. I have tried: 1) turning off the bluetooth on my
iPhone; 2) entirely resetting my airpods and reconnecting them, first to the laptop and then to the iPhone through a series of bizarre steps that may have included turning in 3/4 of a circle during a full moon; and 3) restarting the bluetooth service on my
laptop. None of that worked.

When I open the Bluetooth devices menu on my laptop, my airpods appear as paired. Irrespective of how many times I attempt to connect them, whether the airpods are in my ear or in the open case, whether an app is playing a video or music on the laptop,
when I click "connect," the laptop appears to be attempting to make the connection, but is NEVER successful (or at least never successful for more than a microsecond).

Microsoft needs to help us try to fix this problem. PLEASE
