Windows 10: AirPods not recognized on desktop but are on laptop

Hello all!I have a pretty specific situation that I couldn't find any good fixes online for.So here's the issue:I have airpod gen 2s that have never been connected to an apple device I used android. I recently wanted to use them on my desktop PC. But they do not show up on the devices available. What is interesting is that my desktop can access other BT devices Mice. Keyboards, etc AND my laptop computer Surface Pro 3 can connect to the airpods. This means I am pairing them correctly, but something is happening to my PC.What I have tried:- Restarting PC- Resetting Airpods- Updating Windo

My airpods connect to my hp laptop but then I can not make them the default output and input source for audio.

I tried the steps that you listed. I have not been able to get audio on the airpods yet, so it has happened every time I have tried to switch audio to airpods consistently for the past week since getting the laptop.

Please let me know if there are any other steps I can take to resolve the issue.

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand, Human Interface Devices.
   
3. Look for AirPods Audio/Video Remote Control HID and
   AirPods Hands-Free Call Control HID, right click on each entry and select
   Properties.
   
4. Go to the Power Management Tab, clear the checkbox for
   Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
   
5. Also, repeat step 4 for Bluetooth Low Energy GATT compliant HID.
   
6. Click on OK.

Airpods connected but no sound

Hi,

I just recently connected my Airpods to my laptop and the sound was working fine for about ten minutes before it stopped altogether. I checked the Bluetooth settings and confirmed that they are connected and paired. However, when I checked the sound settings,
it looks as if my Airpods are not recognized as a device. The sound is only coming from my laptop speaker, unfortunately. I should also note that I have no issues connecting my Airpods to my phone so it does look to be a problem with either my laptop or my
Airpods.

Is there a fix for this?
