    Alert level: Severe Status: Failed?

I opened a .zip file yesterday curious of it's contents and was immediately hit with the warning

    Trojan:Win32/Zpevdo.B

    Alert level: Severe

    Status: Failed

The first message says this above

I quickly cancelled the zip extraction and deleted both the .zip and what had been extracted to that point.

I had a second message say

    Trojan:Win32/Zpevdo.B

    Alert level: Severe

    Status: Quarantined

And I promptly removed it, but since this happened I would get random pop-ups on the bottom right side of my screen leading to scam sites, and all of my folders+some other miscellaneous things have a weird double blue arrow pointing at each other pic related: Alert level: Severe Status: Failed? d1d4e915-de81-4309-b3e2-8301b2f8b9e1?upload=true.png

What do I do? How do I return my computer to normal?

    :)

  2. Outlook sync fails after receiving SharePoint list alerts

When I receive an alert email generated by an event in a SharePoint 2007 list, subsequent Outlook synchronisations fail with an error message.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Open Outlook on the WP7, hit sync and ensure email is described as up-to-date.

    2. Navigate to a SharePoint 2007 list and select the Alert Me option from the Actions menu. Set up an alert to be sent to your email account.

    3. Make a change to an item in the list and await the event notification to be sent and then to sync to the phone.

    4. Once arrived, hit the Synchronise option on the WP7 menu. The email sync will fail with an error message. No further emails will be received.

    5. Tap the alert email in the Outlook list and delete the alert email.

    6. Hit the synchronise option and observe that the synchronisation succeeds.

This behaviour observed on Samsumg Omnia 7 and HTC Mozart, running retail versions of the software. Carrier - Orange UK.

    Emergency Alerts

    Hi Stephanie,

Just to confirm, is this the same thing that you tried on your phone, in order to turn off Amber Alerts?

    • Open Settings.
    • Tap on System.
    • Tap on Messaging.
    • Tap on the Change emergency alert settings link.
    • Turn on or off the emergency alerts you want.

Let us know if this was the same thing that you tried.

We would also suggest to reset your phone after doing these steps to ensure that the changes on your phone's settings will be refreshed.

Simply press and hold the Power and Volume down button for 15 seconds and then release your hold afterwards.

    Alert level: Severe Status: Failed?

Windows 10 Defender for Win32/Cerber says "Status: Failed" -- what does that mean?

Please help clear up my confusion:

After running a full scan with Defender under Windows 10, I see this detail message under scan history:

    Behavior:Win32/Cerber.gen!A!rsm

    Alert level: Severe

    Status: Failed

    Date: 12/14/2017

    Recommended action: Quarantine threat now.

    Category: Suspicious behavior

Simple question: Does "Status: Failed" mean that Defender stopped the malware from executing and I'm okay?

Or does it mean that "Quarantine threat now" failed and I have to do something else to stop this threat?

Other status messages for other types of threats say "Status: Quarantined" ... so I'm confused if this threat is dead or not.

    Thanks
