Windows 10: Alert-Your Memory has been Changed Windows 11 and Ram decreased to 4GB

3 days back when I started my laptop I automatically got message that Alert your memory has been changed.From then onwards my laptop is too slows I have SSD of 256 GBout of which more than 40GB is vacant. Ram-8GB now decrease to 4GB,Hard Drive-1 TBPlease someone help even I can't watch my youtube videos

Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

Hi There,

I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

• I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
• physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it

Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

Please make windows 11 run smoothly on 4gb ram and 96gb hdd

We don't work for MS. We're normal users like you.

I'd suggest two options:

• Uninstall unnecessary RAM-eating apps which you don't use.
  
• Increase the memory to at least 8GB by adding a RAM stick of 4GB but which is compatible with your device.
  

4GB is the minimum req., so you may need high amount of RAM.

 

Does windows 11 perform well with 4GB RAM?

Having more RAM would improve your performance.

You may upgrade if you have 4GB of RAM and it might work and according to the Windows 11 requirement 4GB of RAM is supported, take a look at Windows 11 System Requirements (microsoft.com).

However, in case you are able to upgrade to 8GB of RAM, it is recommended to do so.
