    HDD to SSD

I don't understand why you changed the boot order in your BIOS.

When you image or clone an HDD, and restore the image or clone to an SSD, you've got an identical copy of your computer on a different hard drive. Nothing has changed, really. So the next step is to remove the HDD from your computer and replace it with the
SSD, then carry on as normal.

  3. I couldn't find the both drive SSD and hdd in boot settings to boot

    Hello, Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thanks for your feedback, I think you're having trouble finding your SSD and HDD in the boot settings. Here are some steps you can try:

    1. Make sure that both your SSD and HDD are properly connected to your computer.

    2. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS settings.

    3. Look for the "Boot" or "Boot Priority" section in the BIOS settings.

    4. Check if your SSD and HDD are listed in the boot priority list. If they are not, try looking for an option to "Add Boot Option" or "Add New Boot Device".

    5. Select your SSD or HDD from the list of available devices and set it as the first boot option.

    6. Save your changes and exit the BIOS settings.

If you're still having trouble finding your SSD and HDD in the boot settings, you may want to consult your computer's manual or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

Also, I noticed that you transferred the data to your SSD, your problem may also be caused by not correctly writing the boot information. If that's the case, you need to reinstall the system on the new hard drive to get the correct boot information, and then transfer your data to your SSD.

Disclaimer: Please back up all your important data before performing it.

Looking forward to your issue being resolved soon.

  4. Alienware R17 black screen on boot after HDD and SSD replacement.

Automatic repair while booting from hdd and installing windows on ssd.

    1. Migrated windows from hdd to ssd
    2. Formatted hdd
    3. Prioritised boot from ssd in bios
    4. Turned on the pc
    5. Automatic repair

To deal with this I select boot from a device > then EFI USB device > it says no bootable USB detected, select from these drives > there are few options including the newly installed ssd > I select ssd > then it shows disk checking, press any key to stop > I stop it > windows then boots from ssd.

It very difficult to repeat all this everytime I turn on my pc. Please suggest a fix.
