  1. All apps locking up since build 10049 update

    Hello,

I just wanted to post on here and see if anybody might be able to help me figure this out. I was enjoying the previous 2 builds I tried, but ever since I updated to 10049, I've been getting constant lock-ups and freezes.

Here's one example of what happens:
I boot up the laptop, log in, everything seems fine. I open Project Spartan, it hangs and won't load any pages. I open up Chrome, it seems to be functioning, but it won't load any websites either. When I mouse over the buttons, they change color as if the browser is working just fine. I can type pages into the address field (on both Chrome and Spartan), but when I hit enter, it doesn't go anywhere. I click start, settings...it opens the settings, I click update, it says it is updating but gets stuck at 5%. I try to open the network and sharing center thinking "hey, maybe my wifi is acting up", but the control panel will not load and gets stuck there. I can open task manager and it shows everything moving along at a couple% on the cpu for each running app, but nothing ever happens. I can leave it for hours and nothing will happen. I can click start, power button, restart, then look at the spinning restart circle, but it will never restart. It just hangs there and requires a hard power-off.

Example 2: I start the computer and log in to windows. The desktop comes up, start will open once. I click settings, and a new task bar item pops up, but the settings app will not load. I try to open Spartan, or Chrome, and same thing, neither will load. I can open task manager. Sometimes if I close and restart explorer.exe, things will work again...for a little while, but usually they will lock up again.

I have had times where the settings app is open, as well as a browser, and then everything locks up and you can't click on anything. Then the start menu won't open, Cortana does nothing, and I have to use the physical power button to shut it down.

Something seems to be hanging, I just don't know what. When I check the event viewer (attached to this post), it looks as though just about everything that tries to run has an error. Right now, I'm in Spartan. I have rebooted 5 times to get this far. It seems to be running great at the moment, but next time I turn on the computer it will probably lock up again.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Stuck on build 10049

    Hey guys,

I'm a windows insider and my system is stuck on build 10049. 10049 is running well on my computer, but I have started to get messages saying that my current build will expire soon.

Any update I have tried since 10049 fails due to insufficient disc space, including an online update to Win10 current released version. In addition, I tried to load from an iso, but now that is asking for my key, which no longer works I assume because I'm
    no longer running Win 7.

I have also tried the delete extra languages fix, but English is the only language loaded.

    I'm open to suggestions.

    Thanks

    dave

  3. I can't move on from Build 10049 Please Help!!

I have been at Build #10049 since its release and haven't been able to update. I always go to the Update section in settings. It always says it's updating like languages or my Video Card. It either is successful or says retry. Now that Windows 10 is released
what and I never had the Windows 10 Icon to make a reservation I don't know what I should do now

    UPDATE:

Okay so now it says the computer is up to date, but I am still on 10049. I reset my computer and everything. I keep checking for updates, but it says system is up to date
