Windows 10: All apps using microsoft account stop working after gfwl installation

Hi,


I installed an old game (virtual tennis 4) using "games for windows live" 2 days ago.


After the installation the game runs properly and gfwl can sign into my microsoft account without problem.


However, now I found that some apps that used my microsoft account to signed in are no longer functioning. Such apps are win 10 mail app, xbox companion and xbox pc (beta) and windows store.


To be more specific, for example, the mail app first shows that my account needs fixing, however when click on fix account it always failed to load anything up.


xbox companion is stuck at the green screen with the circle turning forever.


xbox beta, can enter interface but when click on sign in, no response.


I reset the mail app then tried to add microsoft account back it gave a error code 0x80070426


After a restart xbox beta also showed error your account needs fixing but when click on fix account or sign in it gave an error code 0x800706D9


Please help.

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

 

GFWL Marketplace No longer working

Yes, i know what gfwl is.

I really really doubt they can help.

Yes i have the xbox app.

but i wish to use the gfwl marketplace as well.

Since the xbox app history or my account history does not have the gfwl games at all.

They just vanished from everything...

Gfwl games are not even on the ms store... I wish to install and download my library of gfwl games again on my newer pc.

Warning****

For anyone on windows 10, do not install the required windows live sign in assistant or uninstall. Seriously, it will lock you out of your computer, it will say invalid password no matter how many times you try or change it, especially if you uninstall
it. It may not happen to everyone. But it definitely happened to me. Twice. Had to reinstall Windows. The "fixes" didnt work.

I hope Microsoft fixes this issue ASAP, thats a whole lot of problems and people did buy games from gfwl Marketplace. Especially when we were told we could download our games at any time, even though they stopped updating the marketplace..

Microsoft and GFWL D:

I'm having a problem with microsoft and games for windows live. I tried to access my microsoft account tonight but I'm not able to because its telling me that it does not recognize this computer. I'm on a new computer and no longer have access to my old PC. Its a safety messure to ensure your account doesn't get hacked. Anyway I've updated my information on the site and its now going to take 30 days before the new information is saved I suppose. In the meantime, none of my GFWL games will work on steam. F1 2010, Batman Arkham City, Fuel. Am I not able to play any of these games over the next 30 days because I got a new computer? I don't understand this....

I updated GFWL and all are working except batman now. Thanks anyway *Smile
