Windows 10: All audio playback devices are gone after update to Win 10 21H2

Hello,after the update of Win10 to 21H2 I no longer have any audio. The drivers are installed for the Realtek sound as well as for the sound via the Nvidia video cards. The divice manager also shows audio inputs and outputs but if I go to sound settings the master volume is 0 and no output device selectable. I have reinstalled the Realtek drivers without any luck.My mainboard is an Asus Pro WS X570 ACE with AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and onboard Realtek® S1220A 8-Channel High Definition Audio. I have the rear line out connected and also tried the from output with headphones.https://www.asus.com/Mo

Control panel opens then closes. Audio playback device is gone.

Since updating to Win 10 I cannot access the control panel.

Also the audio playback device is gone and was replaced with the monitor. No sound for anything on computer.

 

Problem with audio devices

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue resolved.

If you're connecting to an audio device using USB or HDMI, you might need to set that device as the default.

Open Start, enter Sound, select it from the list of results, and then, on the
Playback tab, select a device, then Set Default.

I would also suggest you to turn off Audio enhancements.

  Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel
  from the list of results.

  On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the
  Default Device and select Properties.
  
• 
  On the Enhancements tab, select the Disable all enhancements
  check box and try to play your audio device.
  
• 
  If that doesn't work, select Cancel and, on the Playback
  tab, select another default device (if you have one), select the Disable all enhancements check box, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.
  

Please revert if you face any issues with Audio.

red X by audio after 1709 update - audio device gone in device manager.

Just updated to 1709, and got a red X by the speaker symbol. All instructions say "manually update the driver, or, de-install / re-install, or perform an automatic update... there's nothing to de-install / re-install and update. I was going to manually update
the inf driver, but there is no audio or sound speaker symbols listed in my device manager - gone!

Any suggestions?
