All Bluetooth audio cuts out if one program stops playing audio

I have an issue on Windows 11 where if I stop audio in one program, all audio is lost when using a bluetooth speaker/headphones.For example, while music is playing and I use Word's Read Aloud feature to proofread, and it reaches the end of the document, my music will fade to silence, and if I try to change the volume to bring it back up, I don't hear the system volume sound, either. All audio is effectively paused when one audio source pauses. This occurs on both my bluetooth speakers from different brands and a set of bluetooth headphones, so I know it is not an issue with the devices themsel

    :)

  2. Bluetooth audio cuts out with some programs

Hi, I've got two different Bluetooth audio headsets I recently purchased and they will sometimes not play audio with certain programs. As an example, I can listen to spotify right now with the settings page open to Bluetooth & other devices, but if I click
on Sound settings the audio dies instantly. If I go back it will start again. The headsets both have another audio setting (Hands-Free) which has poor audio but won't die depending on the program. I've checked drivers, restarted the Windows Audio, and Windows
Audio Endpoint Builder services (I've seen Windows Audio crash once, but right now the audio is failing and the Windows Audio is running), restarted the computer, connected and disconnected the headsets, etc.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

  3. audio stopped working, windows 10

upgraded to windows 10 by reservation few days ago... compatibility test result was fine... audio stopped working all of a sudden... tried upgrading the driver software in device manager
but in vain... also tried these methods suggested by Microsoft help community... but the audio is still not working, neither speakers nor headphones

    Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click on Playing Audio.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
    • Check if issue persists.

    Method 2:

If there no updated drivers available on the computer manufacturer’s website, then try installing it in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers
in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    • Download the audio driver from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Properties’.
    • Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done,
restart the computer and check if the issue persists

All Bluetooth audio cuts out if one program stops playing audio

    Bluetooth Audio

Hi, happens on any song - here is how to replicate it.

    • Turn Bluetooth on and connect to Bluetooth Speaker.
    • Play an album or track and keep playing.
    • With the track playing turn off Bluetooth.
    • Plug in headphones.
    • Continue song by pressing play (as it stopped when Bluetooth was turned off)

It's a if the audio no longer has bass or is converting down to a much lower bit rate. If I then skip to another track then all returns as normal (I thought I had broken my headphones when it first happened - not funny when you have £120 Bose headphones....
    LOL)
