Windows 10: All browsers crash in windows 10

Hi,


I've searched far and wide and can't seem to see find a solution to this.


I keep facing the same issue with IO, Chrome and Firefox. The browser just crashes, sometimes this is as I search, other times its after the page is loaded and I'm just reading.


The laptop is less than 6 months old HP Spectre and I've used the HP system to run checks on all hardware/software as well as ensuring all browsers are up to date, add-on's disabled, cookies and cache cleared etc but nothing works. The laptop has significant storage and very low use of RAM, as stated, it's pretty new so I haven;t had time to clog the thing up with crap yet.


In a separate issue, or at least I assume it's unrelated, I cannot install the latest windows 10 update, it updates fine but crashes on installation. Like the first issue, I can see that others are having this problem but there doesn't seem to be a fix yet.


For such a new laptop, these things are driving me mad. Any help would be appreciated.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
