Windows 10: All Browsers very slow

Hi
I use Firefox as my default browser & recently noticed it'd become extremely slow - it opens up but then takes a minute or two before it's usable (on the tab the little dot goes back & forth).
I initially thought it was a Firefox problem so I disabled all addons but the problem remained. I then did a Firefox refresh but didn't work either.
I then thought it might be the Home page (DuckDuckGo Search) so I checked it out using Chrome: same problem.
I changed the Home page & tried in Chrome, Firefox & (God forbid) Edge. No luck.
Any ideas?
Addition. It was initially the case that the slowness only occurred upon opening the browser - after that all would be well. I now find that if I attempt to load a different page on another tab the slowness is there.

Slow Browser

Hi Susan,

To address your concern, we would like to know the following:

Have you already performed a speedtest for your internet connection?

Does your other devices experience the same slowness in browsing?

Have you turned off your addons on your browsers?

For the meantime, you can perform a reset on your Internet Explorer 11 / Microsoft Edge by following the steps on this

link.

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

Method 1: I would suggest you to clear the cache and cookies and check if it helps.

To clear Cookies
1.Open IE, Go to Tools -> Internet options
2.Under Browsing History, Click Delete.
3. In the next pop-up window, Ensure Coockies check box is checked and click on Delete.
To clear Cache
1. Open IE, Press F12, then Ctrl + R
2.A pop-up "Are you sure you want to clear browser cache" pops up
3. Select Yes.

If issue still persists try method 2.

Method 2. Run Network adaptor trouble shooter

You may try Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services as a first step to diagnose and repair common Network issues.

To run the trouble shooter follow the steps given below

Press Windows key+ X key, Select Control Panel.

Click on Troubleshooting, Click View All.

Click Network Adaptor and follow the instructions

I am still having slow browser problems I have tried all of the suggestions and nothing works it is no good making suggestions for I.E. as I am not using it, I am using Edge or Firefox I really do not know what else I can do someone must know what will
work, just to reiterate an initial search will bring up in Google or Bing results of my search then when I select the most likely from the display I get the circle going round and round in the address bar then the usual time out, something fundamental is wrong,
Microsoft must have an answer

I have still not resolved this slow browser problem it doesn't matter what site I am trying to access most times I get a timeout message don't forget I am using Edge or Firefox not I.E. Edge seems to be the worst offender
