Windows 10: All Desktop Icons Suddenly Not Clickable in Windows 10 Once Again

I've had this issue before, and posted on this forum, but the only reply I got didn't help, and I never got any further response. The thread is now locked, so I have to ask again. But to avoid having to explain everything all over again, I'm just going to link my original post here. The current situation is identical in every way except one, including the fact that there was a windows update a few days ago, and the fact that the icons on the right side still work, but none in the middle or left. The only difference is that now, all but one PDF on the desktop displays as a black square. I don't

In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
Some people have this and some don't.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
