Windows 10: All exe icons are gone... again

Were in 2024 and I'm stuck again with this recurrent problem of ALL exe icons reverting to the default icon.In windows explorer:On the taskbar:I tried the usual stuff:Reboot, cold rebootDeleting all icon cachesDeleting all thumbnail cachesGPU driver re-installApplications re-installSFC checksRemoving icon handlers in the registry this time there was no icon handlers in the registry to start with.Nothing worked. Any help?Windows version is 23h2 22631.4317.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

.exe Icon

After moving to a new PC and installing my Orbx (flight simulation scenery) products I have noticed the icon for Orbx Central has disappeared to be replaced with a default icon. See the image below.






Any suggestions on how I can resolve this please?

 

USB Notification icon gone from the Taskbar

Some suggestions:
Right click start & choose run enter "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" without the quotes.Choose a drive to eject, once ejected icon should return.
• Press keyboard "win + R"• Type "regedit"• Search the value "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Notifications\Settings\Microsoft.Explor er.Notification.{...}"• If you REG_DWORD 0x00000001(0) set "0" you can double click on value. Set the value data to "1"• Click "OK"

Step 1. Go to > Settings > PrivacyStep 2. App Permissions > Background Apps.Toggle ‘Let apps run in the background’ switch to off. Restart computer. (action center not showing previously or new notifications)Step 3. Go back to the settings page, previously mentioned in step 1 and 2.Toggle the ‘Let apps run in the background’ switch to on, as described in Step 2.Restart once again.
