All external displays stuck on "disconnect this display"

Dell Latitude 5430 connected to Dell WD22TB4 docking station. This morning I connected my laptop and all three desktop displays are stuck in "disconnect this display", changing to duplicate or extend prompts to "keep changes" or "revert" but nothing changes. I have rebooted Windows, reset the dock, and all drivers and firmware are up-to-date. Another thread with the same problem suggested checking the refresh rate on the disabled displays to make sure they all match, but the displays are "disabled", there is no reported refresh rate or an option to change it. I can't do my job well without

    Projecting to an external display

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Windows 10.

I understand that you are unable to use external display with windows 10.

This usually occurs if the video driver was not installed properly or not configured correctly.so I would suggest you to reinstall the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps:

    Uninstall Display Adapter drivers

I suggest you to uninstall the display drivers and reinstall them in compatibility mode.

To uninstall the driver, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type devmgmt.msc
    • Right click on the driver you want to uninstall
    • Click on Uninstall
    • Restart the system
After the computer restarts, install the driver in compatibility mode.

    • Select the setup file
    • Right click on it and click on
      properties
    • Click on Compatibility tab
    • Select the operating system
    • Click Ok.
Hope it helps, do get back to us if you need further assistance with Windows.

  3. Display isn't active - can't detect external displays

    Hi,

I would suggest you try the below solutions one by one to fix the issue.

Solution 1 — Clear your display cache to fix display issues

If you’re having problems with your external monitor connected to your Surface Dock, try clearing your display cache:

    Step 1:

Disconnect your Surface from the Surface Dock.

    Step 2:

Download the Surface Dock registry file and open it.

    https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/5/5/8...

    Step 3:

Select and run surface dock registry.reg.

    Step 4:

Click Yes to allow changes to your Surface > click OK.

    Step 5:

Restart your Surface > reconnect it to the Surface Dock > test your external display.

Solution 2—Reset the dock and monitor

If you still can’t use your external monitor, try resetting it together with the dock:

    Step 1:

Remove the Surface Connector from your Surface > plug it in again.

    Step 2:

Unplug your Surface Dock from the power outlet > plug it in again.

    Step 3:

Unplug your monitor from the power outlet > plug it back in.

    Projecting to an external display

    Hi,

When the computer restarts the driver re-installs its self. and also how would I go about going into compatability mode. Would this be through internet explorer?

Any insite on this would be a great help.

    Best Regards,
