Windows 10: all files in camera roll folder gone

Discus and support all files in camera roll folder gone in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Hello, recently I just found out that my camera roll folder has gone completely blank, and there are no files inside whatsoever, I have not transferred...     Hello, recently I just found out that my camera roll folder has gone completely blank, and there are no files inside whatsoever, I have not transferred anything recently, I did not delete anything and for some reason, it's gone. I have managed to find a few of the photos on Onedrive although I didn't even know it uploaded my photos to Onedrive without my permission and when I checked the info for the photos it said it was located in the camera roll folder but again it was empty. Would love it if someone could explain what happened, thanks

    Hi Rosalyn,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps for arranging the camera pictures in recent order and check if it helps.

    • Press “Windows+E” it will open file explorer.
    • Go to “This PC” and click on “pictures folder”.
    • Then click on “camera roll folder”.
    • And right click on the empty space and select “sort by” option.
    • Then select ascending option.

    Camera roll folder

    Hi Bruce,

    1

    Open the Camera Roll folder in File Explorer

    2

    Ensure you can also see the Camera Roll folder in the left pane

    3

    In the search box those *.* and press Enter

    4

    Wait for the list to build, then click the top file, scroll down to the bottom and press Shift, then click the bottom file

    That should select all files in that Camera Roll folder, drag them into the Camera Roll folder in the left pane

    Then, open the Camera Roll folder and all files should be in that folder, not in those date stamped folders

    You should then be able to delete those empty date stamped folders.

    Can you Hide the Camera Roll folder in Windows 11?

    Open a Command Prompt window.

    Type:

    • attrib +s +h "%userprofile%\Pictures\Camera Roll"
    Press Enter. This hides the "Camera Roll" folder.

    To unhide it, run:

    • attrib -s -h "%userprofile%\Pictures\Camera Roll"
    If you've moved "Pictures\Camera Roll" to OneDrive, then use the following pathin the above command-line:

    "%userprofile%\OneDrive\Pictures\Camera Roll"
