Windows 10: All files on my USB 2.0 Drive Became Weird Symbols

During a phase of backing up the files on my USB to a Mediafire account, suddenly the name of my drive was overwritten to the default "USB D:" and all the files became weird symbols. Every time I try to open them I get the error shown below. I've tried everything I can think of, and I need to restore these files. I've attempted to use third-party programs which seemed to have been able to recover the files but always needed me to pay them to actually restore them. Trying the "ATTRIB" command in CMD also gives me the error shown below. This is 6.66 GB of 400k+ files on this USB. Anything I can

Bootable USB drive appearing in Disk Management with unusual symbol

I have a bootable USB drive plugged into my PC and although it shows up in Disk Management, it doesn't show up in My Computer. Why does it have a weird symbol? It's the second drive in the list in Disk Management. Disk Management won't let me assign a drive letter, saying the list has to be refreshed, even though I just refreshed it.

You should not be getting the blank icon, unless it's related to the fact that some of the metadata servers seem to still be down, but i don't think that's the reason. You should be getting the default icon that comes with the OS

Things are still screwed up all over the place!

In This PC, everything is okay, (custom icons or not), 'cept for my phone, but in the jump list it's proper...





then, Device Manager is ever weirder...
