    All files with grey x were automatically deleted after signing back into one drive.


    So, today I was trying to access a file and it had a grey x and there was an error code and the solution was that I needed to sign back into one drive. Once I did, every file that had a grey x on it was deleted. I can’t find the files anywhere. I’m most upset about the fact a folder containing my oldest child’s newborn photo shoot was deleted. Please help! I’m on the verge of tears.

    deleting hard drive files

    Hi,

    May we know what type of file are you trying to delete? Would it be Office documents, media files, or picture files? If you're trying to delete files for free some space on your device. We suggest to perform a Disc Cleanup. Kindly follow the steps below to
    perform the task:

    • Type in Cortana Disc Cleanup
    • Choose the files to delete
    • Click on "Clean up system files"
    • Click on Ok
