  1. All hidden files turned Un-hidden

Yesterday, I inserted a flash drive on my PC and it was loaded with trojans. I managed to clear them with Kaspersky but after that I noticed that all the hidden files in my C drive have turned Un-hidden. (Including desktop.ini's)

    :)

That was very helpful except you didn't tell me how I'd hide hundreds of folders one by one.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being part of Windows 10.

I suggest you to re-add them to the hidden items list and check.

    Steps:

    • Right click on the folders to hide, select Properties.
    • Go to General tab, under Attributes check mark the option
      Hidden.
    • Click on Apply and on Ok.

I suggest you not to use any third party anti-virus software. Try to use Windows Defender.

    Refer: Using Windows Defender

Hope it helps. Feel free to contact us for further assistance on Windows Operating System, we will be happy to help you.

In the tab view there is on the right side options, click on it.
Go to the tab view and search for the option 'Hide protected operating system files'.
    Is that option unchecked?

  6. I've been a web designer for 6 years and I'm not a total noob as you might be thinking. I've already checked all the primary options available. I just want to know if there might be any kind of problems if all the system files are un-hidden.(Their 'hidden' attribute is unchecked)

That is the reason why you see those files.

It'll only cause problems if you delete 1 of those files.
Just check it and you'll not see them any longer.

Hidden files: There's a method for hiding files in Windows. Not using the "system" or hidden attribute, but something else, which escape me now. It's a bit cumbersome (for me) to use it but I have. I read where Microsoft uses this method when downloading files (uses or used in the past)....
