Windows 10: All icons gone, can’t open anything

So I restarted my computer because the keyboard wasn’t working but the mouse was. After I restarted it, I come to a home screen with all icons missing, can’t open anything, and every time I go on the taskbar it just shows a loading icon and doesn’t do anything. If I also click on the taskbar a few times the whole screen turn black for about a second. Please help I have no idea what to do and I don’t feel like spending tons if money to fix it!

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

I have the same issue, but none of the above methods helped to resolve the problem.

What are the next recommended steps?

Missing icons include:

• Microsoft Mail
• Microsoft Store
• Spotify
• Settings (if open)
