Help! All of my .JPG files are classified as file type "Unhandled Extension Handler Finder" and I can't figure out how to fix it!

Previews work, and the files open with Photos as they should, so setting the default program is not an issue.

However, because the file type isn't the expected "JPG file," I don't get the appropriate context menu when I right click on one of these files {there is no PROPERTIES option. Thus, I can't view or change the properties for example, add tags and comments, and I NEED to do so!

I can't find any recent posts about this issue that might help me figure out what to do. Can someone please help?

    :)

    Unhandled Extension Handler Finder?

Yup, I already did that in 'Choose default applications by type'.
JPG, PNG & TIF are set to Windows Photo Viewer but beneath item in the list of file types Windows lists their default application.
For example .PDF has a description of Adobe Acrobat Document followed by the application - in that case it is of course Adobe Acrobat Reader.
However, .PNG (& other common graphic files) is described as Unhandled Extension Handler Finder followed by the application Windows Photos Viewer.
I can readily change the default application but it makes no difference to the description/type: Unhandled Extension Handler Finder

    Unhandled Extension Handler Finder?

OK, well the cause of this problem is due to the attempt to restore the sadly missed 'Windows Photo Viewer'. The procedure as outlined in TenForums tutorial: 'Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10' causes image file types to be listed as 'Unhandled Extension Handler Finder.
It's a damn shame because I much prefer 'Photo Viewer' over 'Photos'.
If there's another method of restoring 'Photo Viewer' without the file type problem I'd be happy to hear it.
    Thanks folks.
