Windows 10: All my browsers Edge and Chrome cannot download MS Offices files.

Hello there,I need help that recently my home PC is experiencing that I cannot download MS Office files from my emails or even whatsapp web. Other files format I do not have this problem and only happens in my home PC, while my office PC is working fine.I am not sure is anyone else faced a similar issue? And is there a solution as to how I can resolve this on my home PC. Basically, when I click to download the MS Office related files, either Word or Excel, the file will download to full bar of the file size but it will not complete the download fully.Any advice and solution will be very much a

Download issue with Edge browser

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

I understand that you are not able to download any files through EDGE browser.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1:

I suggest you clear the Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

• Click on the More actions (…) icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
• Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
• Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:

• 
  Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
  
• 
  Right click on Microsoft EDGE.
  
• 
  Go to details click on microsoftedgeCP.exe and click
  end task.
  

You have to repeat it few times it worked for me hope it will help you to reset the Microsoft edge browser.

The download option will be available on the EDGE browser at the top right corner. Click on Hub (three horizontal symbol) and click on Downloads, there you will be able to click on Downloads folder and check where the download
files are getting saved.

Office installation won't open files downloaded from a browser

When I open an office file (I've tested Word / Excel) that I downloaded from a browser (chrome, ff, Edge), regardless of the source (gmail, dropbox web download) I get the following error:





This is on a box with:

• Windows 10 (genuine license)
  
• Office 360, installed locally - not the online version. (also licensed)
  

If I take the same word file, open it in another computer and then re-save it in a shared dropbox file, I can open it from the problematic computer no problem. It seems that it only happens when the file is downloaded from a browser on the same computer.

Is there some protection mechanism that I'm unaware of?

Have you tried resetting your browser? If not, we suggest you to do so. To reset Edge, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Browser Settings.
  
• 
  Clear
  Browser Data.
  
• 
  Close the browser and launch it again.
  

If the issue persist, follow these other steps:

• 
  Go to
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click on
  MicrosoftedgeCP.exe
  
• 
  End the task.
