Windows 10: all my icons are shown on Monitor #2 vs. Monitor #1

Hi,

I have Windows 10, Laptop Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. 2 monitors: 1st from laptop & 2nd Acer monitor. All of a sudden (i.e. until today, Oct. 3) I've always had all my icons on Screen #1. Now, upon startup today ALL the icons are on Screen #2.


Tried basics: screen preference display, recognizing Monitor 1 & 2. All of these work perfectly. IT's only the icons which NO matter what I do - they are always displaying on #2.


I reviewed ALL MSFT community postings, read recommendations, followed recommendations (EXCEPT those suggesting "add/to go - Programmer/Savvy talk). Noting works.


Any help is appreciated as this is now driving me nuts.

I apologize NOW if this post/question is filed in the wrong category for MSFT Community. Now savvy in this area either.

Desktop icons moved to monitor 2 from monitor 1

1. Yes, monitor 1 is to the left and monitor 2 is to the right.

2. I can move things between the two.

3. Mouse works fine.

4. I tried moving one icon and it did drag from monitor 2 to monitor 1.

5. I am sorry but I don't know what screen placement means.

6. The task bar on monitor 2 just recently showed up on monitor 1 so I have that twice.

Desktop icons moved to monitor 2 from monitor 1

After a recent update, my desktop icons moved to monitor 2 from monitor 1. I have tried everything I can think of in display settings, but do not know how to get the icons to move back to monitor 1. Can you please help me. Thank you.

 

Change monitor 2 to monitor 1 and make it stay.

I did as you suggested, but the problem was not resolved. Windows detects the monitors just fine, but I need to switch monitor 2 to be numbered monitor 1. The main diplay has not effect, as once monitor 1 is turned on monitor two looses display.
