    This started happening recently, couple days ago i noticed that if i opened audacity or a text file it would open for a second and then crash. Finally i few days later i decided to sit down and fix the issue. I tried looking at similar problems online but found nothing and decided to restore windows. Note, I didnt install or download anything unsafe at all. everything was working fine until last week. I decided to restore the pc and pick a restore point thinking if i restore it back to when it worked, everything will be fine. So, pc boots after restoration and now not all of my programs don't open chrome, word, fl studio all of them i tried uninstalling a few programs that i dont use but even the uninstall process crashes. what is this? if anyone know a way to fix this id really appreciate it, thanks

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    Adding programs to startup with Windows 7?

    You could add entries to the registry to launch the apps on startup, but it's easier to just add them to the startup foler as Newt suggested.
