Windows 10: All newly created folders are marked Read Only

New computer, Lenovo, All folders I create or extract are by default marked read only. I've given myself full access to my C drive and can delete them, but why are they marked Read Only? How do I turn this off?

Document folders marked read only after upgrade to Windows 10

I am not sure that the problem is. The folder is marked READ ONLY but the documents in the folder are not. We can save new docs into any folder even though it's marked READ ONLY. We can create new folders that are created as READ ONLY, but you can save
new files in that folder.

It's a cosmetic issue. Confusing, but not in the way.

Windows keeps marking files and folders as read only

I have windows 10 home, All the files and folders are listed as read only even folders I have just created. I have administrator status.

 

Creating Multiple Folders

OK, here you go:

• Mark the code below with your mouse, then press Ctrl+C to copy it.
• Press the Windows key + R
• Type this command and press Enter:
  
  notepad "%UserProfile%\Desktop\CreateFolders.bat"
• Press Ctrl+V to paste the code lines.
• Save & close the file.

To create the set of subfolders, do this:

• Navigate to some new folder that lacks the subfolders.
• Grab the folder with your left mouse button, then drop it on top of the newly created desktop file.
