Windows 10: All of a Sudden Grunt is Failing During our TFS Build....

Hi there, All of a sudden our build is broken by/in/during Grunt task. The code is pulled from Git to a clean work area with each build and hasn't been a problem. Since the weekend, were are seeing this...I searched around and found some similar problems, but nothing has worked. The gruntfile.js is present where it needs to be and looks fine. NPM is not installed globally, but with each build in its proper version folder.Please Help!! And thanks so much in advance for any info that might get us up and running again.

Devops Server 2020 : Build Agent workspace problem

Hello,



I would like to submit a question regarding a possible configuration problem.



I have a TFS (DEVOPS Server 2020) "on Premise" setup :



DEVOPS server: tfs

Build Agent: tfs-agent1



nota : These servers are in an Active Directory domain and there is no configuration problem on that side)



I've always used a single project collection (DefaultCollection) and made local builds that my agent (tfs-agent1)

ran without any issues.



My agent's work folder is: c:\TFS\Work



With time and the number of projects increasing, I have a folder structure like:

• c:\TFS\Work\1
  
• c:\TFS\Work\3
  
• c:\TFS\Work\4
  
• c:\TFS\Work\7
  
• c:\TFS\Work\11
  

....



All of these files correspond, as you know, to a particular project (1, 3, 4, 7 ,11, ..).



My problem: Today I use a new collection of projects (on the same TFS server) named "Clients"



I have a few projects including one for which I wrote the build definitions.



The problem is the folowing : when running the build (for Clients\MyProject1) , the agent tries to use a path already used by a project

from the other collection (DefaultCollection\Project_With_Id_7_InTheWorkPath) <== for instance



Here is the build log of the project hosted in the "Clients" collection:

1. I deleted all the local (on the agent) and remote workspaces and the build of the project from the "Clients" collection fails every time!
   
2. I deleted all subfolders of c:\TFS\Work
   
3. I restarted the 2 servers several times.
   
4. Unable to run the build :-(
   

If I run the project build (DefaultCollection\Project_With_Id_7_InTheWorkPath), the path "C:\TFS\Work\7\" is created and the build works!



If I run the build of the project (Clients\MyProject1), the build fails with the above log... (as "C:\TFS\Work\7\" is in use)



Even by operating again a cleaning of workspaces and folders, and after a new restart, impossible to build (Clients\MyProject1), while no worries for any other project of "DefaultCollection"



In my TFS builds, I saw I could set a subfolder to store the source code ( c:\TFS\Work\[id]\s\MySubFolder for the "Clients" project, and then the workspace can be mounted and the build works for the project (Clients\MyProject1), but it no longer works for (DefaultCollection\Project_With_Id_7_InTheWorkPath)



This approach seems completely absurd to me, especially since:



1) It would force me to review all my scripts for each project

2) In my previous company, having several collections and a single agent in charge of building the different collections was not a problem! So I really do not see what is blocking in my configuration

Hi, I am trying to set up TFS proxy but I am unable to connect to the main server. I need exact steps to guide me.
