Windows 10: All of a sudden performance decrease

I've been experiencing a performance decrease in my PC for a long time, it started back then when I had Windows 10, and part of the problem was massive stuttering in Fortnite mixed with Spikes of ping and the PC getting slower when trying to open apps and stuff.Then I decided to move to Windows 11 thinking it could be a solution; it was for about 3 months, but my PC is getting slower back again and it's like the same problem.Fortnite's getting these constant FPS drops with spikes of ping, the apps taking longer to open, the OS not starting as fast as it was at the beginning, taking a long time

Sudden Decrease in Performance?


SFC didn't find anything wrong, but running an integrity check on the drive from Partition Manager did show that it was "dirty" and it repaired the file system errors. I also additionally defragged the MFT. After performing all 6 steps, my PC is back to how it was running previously.

Sudden performance decrease with HD5870

what other programs you running? things like fraps/afterburner/rivatuner can bug out and cause crap performance some times.

You also didnt list your system specs (user CP, system specs, change the drop down to yes) so we cant narrow it down... but lets say you have an intel CPU. it could be overheating and throttling, and thusly lowering your FPS since the CPU is too slow.

 

Decreased gaming performance.

Why is it that after updating W11 22H2 the performance of playing games has decreased and it often crashes, even though all the drivers from Nvidia have been updated, Thank you.
