Windows 10: All of my 4k videos run laggy on every media player I have on Windows 11, high end hardware

As title reads. I have my GPU driver updated. This desktop is a new one I bought recently. My low end laptop can run 4k vids smoothly, this desktop can't for some reason. What should I do? Problem playihg 4K videos with windows media player legacy.

I cannot play some 4k videos on windows media player legacy. I have an asus laptop with windows 11. I would like to be able to mix videos with audio visualizations in the same playlist which I can do with windows media player except for the 4k videos. There are still things I can do in this regard with windows media player which I cannot do with VLC media player or even commercial versions like NERO. Is there anyone out there who may know why I am unable to play 4K videos downloaded from youtube on Windows Media Player legacy?

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue.

Method 1.

I suggest you to run Windows Media Player troubleshooter, it will automatically fix the problems with Windows media player. Please follow the steps:

• 
  Press Widows key + X and select
  control panel.
  
• 
  Now type Troubleshooter in the search option.
  
• 
  In the search option in the new window, type Media Player
  and click on Windows Media Player Settings Troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 2.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Windows media player and check. Follow the below method.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Programs and features and click on Turn
  Windows features on or off.
  
• 
  Locate for Media features, uncheck on the box, click on
  Yes and click on OK. (It will uninstall the media features.)
  
• 
  To re-install the media features, check on the Media features box
  and click on OK.
  

I also suggest you to install all the Windows update.
