Windows 10: All of my Audio is playing through my microphone

As in the title, all of my audio is playing through my microphone to applications like discord and steam. Whenever I watch a video in the background of a steam or discord chat it plays so that everyone in the call can hear it. I have seen this issue brought up a few times on here, but none of the fixes seemed to work for me.

Microphone issue

We suggest that you run the Audio troubleshooter.

• Type troubleshoot in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshoot.
• On the right pane, select Playing Audio.
• Click Run the troubleshooter.

Since you're using an external headset/microphone, we suggest using a different headset to test if the same issue will occur. You can also run the built-in troubleshooter for hardware and sound by following the steps below:

• In the Windows Search bar, type troubleshoot.
• Open the Control Panel app from the search result.
• Under Troubleshoot computer problems, click Hardware and Sound.
• Click Playing Audio to run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen guide

My microphone is playing audio from the computer, but not playing audio from me.

May I ask if you will encounter the same issue with this microphone on other PCs? And what about plugging another microphone into this PC? This is to determine whether something goes wrong with this microphone. If necessary, you can ask someone else to help you make the test.

If there's nothing wrong with the microphone, here are the things you can do:

• Try the suggestions in Fix microphone problems - Microsoft Support
  
• Check your sound drivers. If the drivers are not the latest version, download the latest one and try again; or download an older version in case that it is exactly the latest version.
  
• Make sure your microphone is enabled, and it is better to set this microphone as the default device: Press Windows logo key + R at the same time on your keyboard > type mmsys.cpl and press Enter key on your keyboard > Click Recording tab.
  
  If you can't find your microphone, right click on any audio device in the Recording tab, and click Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. To make the microphone default device, right click on the microphone and select Set as Default Device.
  

While these steps below are not definitely the final solutions, they will still be helpful, which are worth a try.
