  1. All of my available wifi networks have "connect automatically" ticked and will not untick.

All of my available wifi networks have "connect automatically" ticked. When I untick them they immediately revert to being ticked. These are the available networks - not ones I have accessed with the password. I can see that this is an issue that many users have.I don't care about connection problems.I do care about security issues but that is not my point or question. My computer is operating itself and is refusing to make a change that I want it to make. This is of great concern to me and is frustrating. Is there a workaround, a registry key or an update that will fix what is obviously a probl

    too many wifi networks

I have about a dozen local wifi connections in my list of available networks. For some reason they are all ticked to connect automatically, despite using numerous methods to untick them to stop this, they immediately revert back to ticked.

They do not appear in the 'Manage WIFI Settings' section, so I cannot 'Forget' them.

    Any help please?

  3. Network connections

I have a home network set up that includes a Wifi extender. When clicking on the option to see available networks I have always been able to see (but not connect to) other networks around me, i assume neighbours.

Recently i had trouble staying connected to my own network. I've noticed all of the secured networks listed all of sudden have the box ticked for 'connect automatically'. I untick the unwanted networks. 2 seconds later go back and check to find the
box ticked again. Only happens to secured networks.

Ive followed some previous advice from microsoft and through START, Settings, etc to manage networks.. This doesn't work as the the list only shows my Networks, not from others around me that I want to get rid of. I assume my computer is having difficulty
staying connected to my network because it continues to try and connect to other networks.

How do I untick or more to the point stay unticked 'auto connect' from networks not known to me??? Thanks

Changing 'automatically connect' setting on unwanted WiFi networks

Like you I have do not search ticked and WiFi Sense set to OFF. I connect wired to the internet and my wireless connection is shown as unconnected, but NO tick is shown in automatically connect? (Why?) However a neighbour is shown (a very poor secure signal)
and connect automatically always shows ticked. I managed to forget all other networks but this one will not be forgotten? Is this because it shows as connect automatically? Probably. But I gave up and now ignore it.

    Regards,

    Davy.
