Windows 10: All of my files from Disk D suddenly disappeared this morning. They were there last night.

I was connecting my iCloud to my laptop, then I got a zoom meeting. When I tried to open some reading files which located in Drive D, I found all of my files disappeared as it has been formatted.I wonder if it’s related to iCloud that I connect before. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks

Why did my D drive disappear on my Windows 10 Pro.

My D drive suddenly disappeared on my Windows 10 Pro. I had it last night and I no longer see it this morning. The info on cmd (diskpart, list disk) reads as below:

Disk ###: Disk 0

Status: Online

Size: 238 GB

Free: 1024 KB

Dyn:

GpT: *

Please help. How to I find my D drive.

D: Drive Suddenly Disappeared

I have seen this command before, though I've never used it much, other than to list the disks. I indeed only have 1 2TB drive. However, it's gone again. And even though I tried to list the disks, only C: appeared.

I'll try to open the box tomorrow and see if I can make it appear again.

So, I did a diskpart and then I was able to use the drive again, format it and it's now the same way I bought it (software-wise at least). I also made sure all drivers were up to date (just in case).

However, when it comes to Western Digital's disk test, it still fails for the same reasons. The disk is currently empty, so it's indeed a hardware problem. The cables are all good, so it's the drive itself I guess.

Any other suggestions maybe?

So, I did got no different results from the test, but I saw this. It seems this is the only fail it gives in this results window.

Here's the photo from Event Viewer, all disk warnings are pretty much the same as the ones you see (the only thing that changes is the error code).

Also, I updated the mobo's driver, it was the only driver or anything in general that I could update. I don't think anything will be fixed by that, but you never know... I'll start running the tests you told me as well.

I'm rebooting and going for the other test you suggested.

I rebooted and I'm stuck at the Windows login screen. I put my password and then it just reloads the page and asks for my password again (I have the correct password and it doesn't give any wrong password warning). It does that no matter the sign in option I choose.

I also tried to reboot again, in case it was some sort of quick problem, but that didn't help.
