Windows 10: All of my files in the downloads section are suddenly gone. Can I do something to solve that?

Hey everybody! Yes, as the title says, today I woke up to an empty downloads folder, with the exception of the steam folder and a bunch of plugins for fl studio 20.

I've ran windows defender a couple times and I don't have a virus. I also went to the bin to check if my stuff was there, but I found nothing. Luckily I didn't have anything essential there, just a few games and programs, but I'm still annoyed.

So my questions are:

1_ What could've caused this?

2_ Is there anything I could do about it?

Future of TPU Download Section

Well i personally see less of a need for a downloads section other than to host your own programs like GPU-Z.

• Most demos you can download using torrents or direct on the official website.
• Trailers you can get on other various sites dedicated to gaming or youtube (other video hosting sites).
• Programs i download from file hippo or directly from the official website.

The only time i use TPU own servers is when i see new drivers posted on the news section, then i use the TPU servers but likewise i could get them from the official website. Steam will update your drivers for you also.

Im struggling to think of any foreseeable use for that extra bandwidth.

Note: The disk I am using for the screenshots is 750GB. Your source disk should show as 3000GB with sector size = 512 which we will be changing to 4096.

On the fifth screen you posted















If your only partition is shown and you get " Structure OK, blah ...blah....", highlight that partition and press P (Shift+ P ) (Capital P) to list the files. Post a screenshot.

If your files are listed, you can select those and copy to your 2TB Destination disk into the Recovery folder . If that drive letter is say I: then your destination to copy the files will be Directory I: \ Recovery ( Replace I with the actual drive letter of your 2TB Destination drive you noted in the second screen)

At any point during the recovery process, if you have any doubts, post a screenshot and ask for clarification.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
