Windows 10: All of my icons are completely blank and not showing

    All of my icons are completely blank and not showing


    Hello, for some reason when i booted my PC up this morning ALL of my icons were gone for some reason and i've tried everything that i've could to fix it.

    Not even the folder icons are showing up.

    Blank shortcut icon GPU-Z

    It's not fixed, today my GPU-Z icon is a blank shortcut icon again..
    And it says GPU-Z.exe does not contain an icon


    All of my icons are completely blank and not showing gpu-z-blank-icon-jpg.jpg

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    These icons correspond to Windows Explorer, IE and Office 365 programs.

    Steps i took to resolve issue, but did not help are:

    1. In order to fix generic blank icon issue on taskbar i killed explorer.exe and restarted it but this did not resolve issue.
    2. Ran quick repair on Office 365 & restarted Windows.
