    All of my keyboard drivers fail to initialize on restart.


    My built in laptop keyboard, my external mechanical keyboard, and the extra buttons on my mouse don't work and I can no longer type anything without the onscreen key board. I've tried reinstalling all the drivers and haven't had any luck. For reference here is the error below.


    "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. Code 37


    The driver was not loaded because it failed its initialization call."


    I found that if I recover my pc to May 1st, everything works just fine again, however upon restart this all breaks. To reiterate, all of my keyboard devices 6 total fail to initialize , and I have reinstalled all these drivers individually and nothing works. Any forum related to code 37 "solutions" that I can simply do straight from my device manager have not worked.


    Any advice would be helpful, honestly thinking about wiping my computer to fix at this point.

    Usually, keyboard problems might occur due to outdated or corrupted keyboard drivers. For us to provide the best resolution possible, we'll be needing additional information:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Is there an error message displayed when the keyboard failed?
    • How is your keyboard connected to your computer? Is it via USB cable or wireless?

    Windows 10 restart fails to initialize HID keyboard and mouse with usb connection

    Just recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

    Logitech duo mouse and keyboard connected by usb work fine when computer powers on.

    However, when computer is on and restart is chosen the usb connection fails to work and requires the usb connection to be removed and reinserted to work.

    During restart the indicator light on usb connection goes off as machine is cycling down and when machine is cycling back on the indicator light goes on and off twice and then remains off.

    It appears as though restart is failing to correctly initialize the usb connection while power on after full power off works and removing and reinserting the usb connection works suggesting there is no problem with the driver itself.

    Is there a fix?

    Hi,

    For us to properly isolate the issue with your keyboard and mouse drivers, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g. updates, software installation)?
    • What is the exact error message?
    • When did the issue first begin?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Have you checked in safe mode if it's the same?
    • Have you tried downloading the latest driver for your mouse and keyboard? If not, we suggest that you check the manufacturer's website for the latest driver.
