    I downloaded Dropbox to learn how to use it before Installing it for my boss on our company computer. When I downloaded it, it asked me to stop syncing my "documents" folder with Onedrive because they can't sync at the same time. So, I googled how to stop syncing and did that. Now that I've deleted Dropbox from my computer, all of my most important files have disappeared and it has taken me so long to contact you about it because I've been having panic attacks since I discovered my entire life's work is gone. Please help me recover the files. I know it is possible because I found the files thr

  3. IE favourites names too long to import - need to edit html

    Hi Ford,

    I appreciate you for providing the details of the issue.

    I suggest you to perform below steps, if you are comfortable in editing html file.

    Follow the steps below.

    • Right Click on Favorites file and Click on Open with Notepad.
    • Edit and shorten Favorite name after the Url link.
    • Click on Save.
    To import file try the below step.


    • Open Internet Explorer.

    • Click on the Star > "Add to Favorites" drop-down > "Import and Export"

    • Mark a box "Import from a file".

    • Click the Next button.

    • Mark a box "Favorites".

    • On the next screen, using a Browse button find a file "bookmarks.html", highlight it, and click OPEN.

    • Click on "Next" button.

    • Click on "Import" button.

    • Click on "Finish" button.
    Disclaimer: Make sure to backup Favorites file.

    In addition to the resolution, we suggest that you create a new administrator account on your PC. This is to verify if this issue is not related to the user account that you are using. To do this, you may follow the steps provided in this article on how
    to create a local
    user or administrator account in Windows 10
    . Once you’re on the page, you may proceed with the steps, and then complete the process.

    After creating a new administrator account, we suggest that manage your files from the
    File Explorer and copy your previous account folders, data, and settings, and then paste it to your new user account. To do this, you may follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, type File Explorer and press
      Enter
      .
    • Click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options.
    • The Folder Options will appear, select the View tab, under the
      Advanced settings section, choose the Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
    • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) option, click
      Yes to proceed.
    • Click Apply > OK to save the changes.
    • Locate this C:\Users\(your old Username) folder, copy all your files and data except the following:
      Ntuser.dat, Ntuser.dat.log, Ntuser.ini.
    • Locate your new user profile, C:\Users\(your new Username) and paste it to your new username folder.
    • This process may take a few minutes depending on the size of the file.

    Note: You may be prompted for an administrator password and confirmation about the changes that require administrative rights. Provide the password and confirm to proceed. Please make sure that you follow the steps with care to avoid any
    issues.
