Windows 10: All passwords unrecognized

I woke my Windows 10 laptop from hibernation and the passwords for both the non-administrator and administrator account are unrecognized. It is not due to CapsLock or recent change in password. The problem persists after a reboot. I usually update Windows within a few days of being notified of an update, so the OS should be up-to-date. What should I try next?

You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

Lost My Administrator Password

To which "this" are you referring?
- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.

Password Unrecognized

I do not have Installation media so option 1 is out. Option 2 will not let me get past command prompt. What shows up is 'select administrative account' since I am the only administrator that is the one listed. Once I click it then it asks for my password
which again states incorrect password. So I'm stuck.
