    All sound stops when one application sound is paused/stopped


    I am on Windows 10.Scenario: I am listening to radio over the internal in a browserI am also playing a game at the same timeso there is sound output from both the radio and the game... fineIf I pause the sound from the radio, the sound from the game also stops.I also have observed this behaviour in scenarios and made many attempts to fix this problemNone of the threads I have found seem to resolve this issue.HELP

    sound stops

    the sounds stops after 7 minutes when watching a video .When press pause and restart it continues .when listening to music also stops and have to go to next track to continuing listening.With TV series have to restart the episode and start at point sound
    stopped.Movies and series continue to play after sound stops.

    dual monitors stops sound

    Hi David,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

    • When will the sound disable, when playing through main monitor or the extended monitor?
    • Did you try enabling the sound from the sound drivers and check if it helps?
    • Since from when are you facing this issue?
    This issue causes because the monitor automatically takes the HDMI sound as the Default input. Disable and enable the speakers and check if it helps.

    I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the volume control and then
      Properties      ,
    • When you connect the HDMI it becomes the default output device, even though it has no speakers.
    • You need to change this back to "Speakers" and set as default.
