Windows 10: All Sounds On Computer Goes Through Voice Chat and Voice Recorder

Hello,


My laptop is HP Omen 17t. Exact product number is: X9Z34EA#AB8


All my drivers and Windows 10 is up-to-date. No pending Windows updates or anything.


The issue started a couple of weeks ago, out of nowhere, while I was playing a game with my friends, using Discord for voice chat. My friends started to hear EVERYTHING I do on my computer. Every single noise, music playing, game sounds, videos etc. Literally anything. I look into some settings on Discord but that did not help.

My laptop has two jacks on the left side, one in and one out. When I unplug my headset, which has seperate output for mic using a seperator, the issue disappears. It only happens when I plug the 3,5mm microphone jack.

I did suspect that my brand new headset might cause this, so I tried it with my friends headset, which is the same brand and make. Than I used a seperate microphone and iPhone headphone. As I said, the issue persists when the audio-in jack is used.

1. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Realtek audio drivers using Device Manager.
2. I've installed an older version of Realtek Audio Driver 2.8x, that completely disabled my microphone jack of my computer. I could only use the built-in one on the upper side of the screen.
3. I installed a clean Windows 10 using the built-in recovery options.
4. Uninstalled and installed Nvidia drivers.
5. Uninstalled the Realtek drivers and try to go with the Windows drivers High Definition Audio I suppose
6. Yes, "Listen to this device" option is unchecked.

Nothing could solve the problem. I am about to lose my mind. I don't have any other software installed that might interfere with the sound plus this is a fresh install of Windows 10.


I ran out of options, I checked every single thing on Google.


Also, my laptop does not have Realtek HD Audio Manager. Instead, it has Bang & Olufsen Audio Control and it does not have options like "Echo Cancellation" etc. It has HP Noise Cancellation and it's greyed out when mic jack is in use. And it does not have options like "Use seperate jacks" like I saw from other threads.

I am unable to install Realtek HD Audio Manager, I think this is because HP wanted to modify and present it as Bang & Olufsen Audio Control.


So any help is appreciated.

I hope this is helpful...I access my voice recorder with the following steps: choose Applications under your menu - then Voice recorder (my Voice Recorder is listed there alphabetically) - under options choose Record Sound Clip (each sound clip is limited
to 60 mins like sides of a tape) I found that I was able to record an entire weekend seminar in clips for each speaker and session.



The only problem I am having is getting these sound clips to upload to my PC during the sync process.

 

Need Voice Recording App

Hi, guys, I need a voice recording app which can record clearly the voice of mine. So please anybody have any suggestion regarding it can please share it with me.

Windows has a voice recorder at Start > Voice Recorder

I'd like to make two suggestions:

1- DVDs are old technology. Nobody really uses them any more, and new computers frequently don't have a DVD player. The 'modern' way is to record a sound file and save it online, which makes it much easier to share your irreplaceable stories with future
generations.

2- Like most utilities added in to Windows at no extra cost, Voice Recorder is very basic software. There is probably third-party software that is designed specifically for this purpose.
