  1. All web browsing is disabled on my son's laptop and I do not have browsing limits turned on

I am trying to set up the laptop to limit what programs my son can use.

When we log into his account on the laptop, we can't get to any web sites to load. The browser is stuck loading. Edge and Chrome.

I have not enabled any content filtering at all as I am using Mobicip for that there are no whitelist capabilities with MS Family.

I disabled Mobicip to verify it was not the one blocking them. I re-booted. I verified the internet does work from my log in.

What's up or how can I find out what's up?

  2. Limiting Browsing Capabilities

Is it possible to limit my son to browsing only his 2-3 educational websites? There are several games he plays via his browser and I want to make sure he is studying and not playing games. He has to have browser access.

Also, is it possible for me to limit him to just using his computer with no browsing capability?

  3. child account/in private browsing

    Hi Brian,

I understand your concern, turn on web browsing limits if you want to block sites that provide adult content, or to allow or block individualwebsites or web pages by using their web addresses
or URLs. For young children, you can set up web browsing limits, so they can only visit a small number of sites that you have specifically allowed.

To set up web browsing limits

    • Sign in to
family on the Microsoft account website.

    • Select the child you want to turn on web browsing limits for.

    • Select Web browsing, and switch
Block inappropriate websites from Off to
      On
      .

Now, adult content is blocked and
SafeSearch is on when your child uses the most common search engines.

    • If you want your child to only see websites that you’ve explicitly allowed, tick the checkbox next to
Only see websites on the allowed list.
To allow or block specific websites

    • Sign in to
family on the Microsoft account website.

    • Select the child you want to turn on web browsing limits for.

    • Select Web browsing.

    • To add a site to their allow list, go to
Always allow these and enter the URL of a website that you want to allow.

    • To add a site to their block list, go to
Always block these and enter the URL of a website that you want to block.
    Hope this information is helpful
