Allocated RESTORE SPACE keeps lowering to zero ...

When I configure my allocated restore point space to 15 or 20 % it keeps resetting back to zero %.I move the slider from 0% up to some % and then click 'Apply'. That appears to be effective for a day or two, but then for some unknown reason, it resets itself back to zero %. This deletes all my manual restore points. How can I lock my allocated restore point space at 15 or 20 % ...

    :)

  2. Windows 10 System Restore; Available drives and allocated space

I have three available drives: Data (DAllocated RESTORE SPACE keeps lowering to zero ... :); Recovery (EAllocated RESTORE SPACE keeps lowering to zero ... :); Windows (CAllocated RESTORE SPACE keeps lowering to zero ... :) (System). In Widows 10 how much space should I allocate to each. They were all zero.

allocated space for system restore suddenly set to 0% (zero) after KB4579311, KB4578968 update

    Thanks for the clarification.

How do you monitor the condition?

I googled for checking system restore settings but did not find an appropriate answer for windows 10.

There are powershell cmdlets Enable-ComputerRestore and Disable-ComputerRestore and Get-ComputerRestorePoint but I could not find how to check if ComputerRestore is enabled and what the space allocations are.

Why do Restore Points disappear long before using the allocated space?

    On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Version 10.0.17134.165

Restore Points disappear long before the allocated spaced is used. I have 5% / 10GB allocated. Disk space used for a single RP when first added is about 65MB. The space used grows continuously and when it gets somewhere over 1GB (in 2 or 3 days) the single
RP gets removed and space goes back to 0.

    I ran sfc /scannow, Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth, Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth, Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

a week ago. Two corrupted files were repaired. No problems are found running these now but the RP problem persists.

I found Volume Shadow Service was for some reason Disabled. I set it to Automatic. I check status frequently. It was Stopped once that I observed but now stays Running.

It seems there's a problem. I want to avoid a Windows Repair Install or Re-Install if possible.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

    Regards
