Allow a Child account to install applications

Windows Version: 2004 (OS Build 19041.985) Hi there, I am looking for a way to allow my 13 year old son to install applications on his Windows 10 Home PC, while still maintaining the bulk of the Family Safety child account features. I spoke to MS support and they have said the only way to allow an account permission to install anything is to make it an administrator account. This seems to defeat the entire purpose of using Family Safety, as he could simply create a new account that isn't subject to any restrictions. Is there a way to make his account admin, but limit the things it can do? (Like block account creation/alteration) Thanks,

    :)

    Child Account Get Greyed Out

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did the following instead.

I have another laptop, 2 weeks old, with Windows 10 Home on it.

On that one, I tried the same steps with the child account, and got the exact same results.

  3. Child account

I did set up a Child account, I did fallow all the steps window ask, the account say that the child is in the family, when I tried to log, give me the message "The Profile Service service Failed The Sign-in. User Profile cannot be loaded".

    Answering your questions:

    • Did you make any changes to the child account prior to the issue? No, I did not make any changes.
    • Since when you are facing this issue? Right from the start. I never got to login.
    • Are you able to login with other child accounts on the computer? No
I suggest you to restart the computer once and check if you are able to login to the computer. I did, the same problem, I do not have any problem with my account or my wife.

    Thank you for your help.

    David.

Allow a Child account to install applications

Limit applications available to child family account on Windows 10 PC

I created a user account for a child with Microsoft Family. The start menu of the child account appears to show all of the applications installed on my computer. I want to limit the applications visible and available to the child account. I'd like to create
a very simple interface that provides the child user with only a limited selection of applications. How can I do this?

There are two different things I'd like do:

    1) Actually limit access to applications on the child account.

    2) Hide or remove applications from the start menu if they can't actually be removed from just the child account.

On the Microsoft Account webpage for family settings I went to the App and Game Limit section and blocked several apps. However, I noticed the list of apps displaced here seems to be limited to only pre-installed apps. Applications I have installed on this
    computer are not listed.

    Thanks,
