  1. Allow AD group to access one software

    Hey reddit!

I have a situation where I am deploying out a bunch of computers. On these computers a software will be installed. This software requires my company to have licenses per user. BUT, the actual software only needs one key license to work.

Problem: How do I only allow a certain AD group within my domain to be able to use said software?

What I want to do is put the pressure off of me to get a crap ton of license for each user and have the user go through my company to get the license and have them report to me when they do have the license and then put them in the AD group so they can use the software. Thanks!

I believe that my firewall is blocking access to Family Tree Maker / Ancestry / MacKiev SYNC - I can't see any reference to any of these names in the allowed list ....

I can't see any way of adding to the allowed list

    Any suggestions ?

At the noment, when I want add a group to the contact, I do

    1. Add another field

    2. I select group from the list

    3. I have to tap "choose a group"

    4. I can select the group from group list

Unlocking Restricted Access Due To Group Policy Setting

    Thanks again for the reply.

I followed your suggested steps, but even though the user shows as being added and active it does not appear on the sign in page as an alternative account.

Maybe I am giving the command in the wrong directory. When I boot into the recovery environment the directory in command prompt is: x:\windows\system32

I ran the command from here. But the new added user did not appear on the sign in page.

I also used the diskpart and list volume command to check on which partition windows is installed. I changed directory to c:\> and again followed your steps. But again the new added user did not appear on the sign in page.

Can you please give me more instructions on how to remedy my foolish Group Policy restriction?
