  1. Allow non-admin users to update a program

Hello.I have a healthcare application running on windows 10 & 11 devices. It requires frequent updates, like once or twice every two weeks. Updating requires admin privileges, but I do not want my users to have those rights to protect the devices from unauthorized installations. I tried setting the properties of the vendor's update exe to run as administrator, but that didn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion to help? Currently, I must provide my credentials every time there's an update with every device. We are a small business with a dozen users and MS365 cloud services, no local server

    :)

    ATITool 0.24 in non-admin user

Hmm, strange thing. I uninstalled v0.24 and installed v0.23, which works fine. After I read your advices, I installed v0.24 again and "Voila!", it starts in PowerUsers (non-admin) without errors/complains.
Thank you for your suggestions and sorry for the post.

  3. Restrict non-admin user from accessing one of his own folders (but allow his app to access)

    Hi all,

Let's say a Windows computer has 2 users:

    • Admin user
    • Non-admin user
    In the non-admin user account:

    • There is an app that reads and writes to his Videos folder
    • However, the non-admin himself cannot access (read, write or delete) that same folder
May I know if the admin can make such an arrangement?

    Tests I made:

    • Start computer
    • Login with a non admin account
    • No speaker sound when I change speaker volume
    • Switch to an admin account. I get speaker sound when I change speaker volume
    • Sign out from admin account and switch back to non admin account. Sound when changing speaker volume

    Any more suggestions?
