  1. Allow regular user account to install any software without asking for admin permissions...

I have my admin user account and I have another account who I need to give permissions to install any software he wants. The reason why I can't not just change this user group membership it's because I have bitlocker activated and I want to prevent this user from deactivating it

    :)

User Account Control will not change in non-admin accounts

I have changed the UAC in my (Admin) account to turn it off. I have accounts for 3 other people, regular user accounts.
On those regular accounts, if you try to start several of the games I have installed (LOTRO, Neverwinter, etc.) UAC stops the game from loading, asks if you will allow, then rejects it as you need to be logged in as ADMIN to give permission.

I checked UAC while logged into a regular account, and it is turned on (After I turned it off in ADMIN account). It will not let me change the setting, saying I need to be logged in as ADMIN.

Now, I am NOT going to give my 8 year old granddaughter ADMIN rights, so how do I turn off UAC in that account?

  3. Installed Android Studio on Windows 10 can't be opened by regular (non-admin) AD user

Our company just started deploying Windows 10 workstations (replacing Windows 7). Windows 10 doesn't allow installing anything without 'local admin' privilege.

I have issues with Android Studio 3.3. After installation, each time I start Android Studio as a non-admin regular user, its asks for admin ID and password.

Here are the detail steps of reproduction:

    1. Download Android Studio 3.3 install package (android-studio-ide-182.5199772-windows.exe) from https://developer.android.com/studio/ as a regular (non-admin) user.
    2. Shift + Right-click on the downloaded package and selected 'Run as different user'.
    3. Enter admin user name and password and install (no issue).
    4. An icon of AS appears on the desktop with a 'shield' sign (admin privileged app) on it.
    5. Click on the icon; it asks for the admin user ID and password.

I need to start the AS as a regular (non-admin) user. How can I do this ?

  4. Allow regular user account to install any software without asking for admin permissions...

UAC allows users to install software without admin rights?

    Hi Everyone,

It has come to our attention that our users can in fact install software without an admin account or an admin present. This is done simply by then doing the following:

The user downloads the app / package.

    User runs install.

    User is presented with UAC.

User puts their own username and password in presses enter and the software carrys on.

Surely, UAC should not allow the user to proceed to install software? This is all enabled via Group Policy and everything is defined as it should be.

Not sure why UAC is failing like this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    **Just found**

When a user right clicks on a program and selects "Run as Administrator". Uses their own details it runs happily. Almost as if domain users have admin rights?
