I have a touchscreen Beckhoff CP2918-0000 connected to a compact PC Beckhoff C6025-0000 running Windows 10 IIot I believe, or Pro.By default, the touchscreen acts as a touch device and touching input fields automatically opens the Windows on-screen keyboard. Lovely. However, I also need to be able to long-left-press the left button as well. By default, long-touching will right click. I don't care about right click, I want to be able to long-left click i.e. touch and hold to keep the left mouse click held in. Ideally I would want to mimic a touchpad, where you can long left-click b

By default, the touchscreen acts as a touch device and touching input fields automatically opens the Windows on-screen keyboard. Lovely. However, I also need to be able to long-left-press the left button as well. By default, long-touching will right click. I don't care about right click, I want to be able to long-left click (i.e. touch and hold to keep the left mouse click held in). Ideally I would want to mimic a touchpad, where you can long left-click by single pressing, and right click with two fingers.

I can't for the life of me find any information on how to get this to work. And the settings available in Windows for this are shockingly sparse.

Beckhoff have a driver available that "converts" the touch device into a mouse device (essentially - with it installed, the mouse cursor is visible; without it installed, no mouse cursor is visible and you get the round transparent white circle appear in the locations you touch), and this allows touching and holding to long-left click (right click is disabled), but at the same time, Windows then doesn't recognise the touch input as a touch device anymore (I assume) and it stops auto-opening the on-screen keyboard - in Typing settings, the "Automatically show the touch keyboard in windowed apps when there's no keyboard attached to your device" option is no longer there - prior to installing the driver, this option is there. So I can either have the ability to auto-open the OSK and not long left press, or be able to long left press but not auto-open the OSK... Neither option is useable for use as an industrial touch PC.

Why are there so few settings related to touch input devices in Windows 10?

How can I enable both the ability to:

- open the OSK when touching input fields AND

- long press the left mouse button?

- BONUS: how can I also enable two-finger right click?

 

The on screen/touch keyboard does not open automatically

After I update windows 11 to windows 11 22h2, when I click on any field to type, the on screen/touch keyboard does not open, (I use touchscreen only), i have to open it manually from task bar, how to solve this problem ?

 

Touch keyboard not working

I have a convertible Laptop with a Touchscreen. I've tried using the Touch-Keyboard but is not working.

In tabelet mode the touch-keyboard doesn't auto-open when clicking on a text input field and when I enable the button in the Taskbar and try to open the touch-keyboard by clicking the button it doesn't work either.

I tried following solutions:

• Setting the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Scaling to 22.5
• Setting the startup tupe of the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service to Automatic or Automatic (delayed)

The Registry key didn't exist on my device and creating it didn't solve the issue. The service and it dependencies were already set to automatic and trying to change them to automatic (delayed) didn't work and showed the error message "The delayed auto-start
flag could not be set. Error 87: The parameter is incorrect"
