Hello,I have cleared out my cookies, both on Edge and Internet Explorer, but the following pop up continues. I do not know what to do? Someone said I should look for extensions, which I did, though I have no idea what they are and googling didn't help.I assume I may have to do a whole factory restore to get rid of it, but if I can avoid that, I'd appreciate advice on how to do so.The pop up happens on two sites, a newspaper and a discussion board, on Edge. I also visit the discussion board on Firefox, but there are no scam McAffee pop ups there. I never press the "ok," so I assume that a scan

  2. Windows Defender and McAffee

sadly not...I uninstalled the programme but there is a second item listed in programmes which seems to be an empty file, just a banner for McAffee LIvesafe asking me to update my subscription. When I try to uninstall that I get a pop up asking which file
I want...but there is no option to highlight and nothing listed. I can't delete it through right click either. I've restarted twice and still have Defender saying I need to update Virus protection and Firewall through McAffee....

Wondering if I should install the McAffee uninstaller as someone suggested above??

  3. Pop up - asking to sign into work or school account.

    Thank you for your help.

I did what you suggested but the work account is not linked to my personal Microsoft account - it is not listed as an account in the "Accounts" section of settings. Therefore I can't disconnect it because it isn't visible.

Is the pop up message from Microsoft or could it be fake?
