  1. alt codes ASCII codes don't work

    Hello,

I updated windows yesterday and today I wanted to use some math symbols like Ø.

I googled the alt codes and found out, that the alt + 8709 combination should produce this symbol.

I tried it out and this is what it does:

I tried some other combinations and alt + 87709 produced: Ø

The combinations I found on the internet for disjunction and konjunction didn't work as well.

What could I do to see how my lap top reacts to those alt codes and what are the alternative methods to use those symbols I need ?

And would it mean, if my lap top is just done, that it would affect the results while using ASCII codes for programming as well?

    :)

  3. ALT key ASCII code

There is no ASCII character associated with the Alt key. Search for information on keyboard scan codes. The Alt key modifies the scan code before any mapping of scan codes to character codes is done.
