    Alt-codes to enter ASCII symbols

I just did the latest update to Windows 10 Oct 21, 22. Now I can't use the alt-codes to enter ASCII symbols. This capability is important for using international alphabet symbols. Microsoft - when will you reinstate this capability? If you haven't considered this, please do.

    :)

  3. ALT key ASCII code

There is no ASCII character associated with the Alt key. Search for information on keyboard scan codes. The Alt key modifies the scan code before any mapping of scan codes to character codes is done.

    Alt-codes to enter ASCII symbols

has "★" symbol (formerly ALT code: alt + 9733) been removed character map / list permanently?

    Hello John,

The ALT + 9733 results to ♣ symbol. There are star-shaped symbols in other fonts, such as wingdings, wingdings 2 but fonts are not specified in the alt (ascii/unicode)code itself. If you search the web using Bing or other search engines. You can find
a complete list ALT symbol codes.

If you're using an application like Microsoft Office, you can go to Insert > Symbols > Symbol > More Symbols.

Hope this information helps you. To notify us and have us get back to you, simply reply to this post.
