Windows 10: Alt + F4 for shut down for an update, windows 11

Usually I use ALT+F4 to shut down my PC, but in windows 11, when an update is required, I can no longer use the ALT+F4 shut down menu to actually shut down or restart the PC. I have to use the windows menu -> power -> and then I can choose "update and shut down" or "update and restart". After Windows has been updated, then there's is no issue with the ALT+F4 to shut down or restart

Is alt+ f4 and shut down the same as shutting down from the start menu

A pretty dumb question, but is it any different? For example:

If I shut down the computer with alt + f4 and shut down, boot it, and then if I shut it down will it start updating windows automatically? (if I havent updated yet)

Alt + F4 offers you more options:

If there is an update pending, using the Start - Shutdown, the update will be applied and you will have no say in the matter . . .

Alt + F4 will give you the option to Shut Down or Restart without applying the Update

At a base level both are the same apart from this . . .

 

Alt+F4 not working in windows 11

Recently I updated my laptop to windows 11, since then whenever I try to shutdown Laptop using Alt+F4 shortcut it doen't work unless I refresh the desktop. Please let know if anyone knows how to resolve this issue.
