Windows 10: Alt key press and release - the most unusable and annoying menu activation feature

Never, I literally never used the Alt-menu feature in Windows in my 30 years of using Windows systems.Yet every day I am annoyed by this feature.I wonder, who ever invented this stupid, unusable, annoying feature that has no use at all. And why everybody hasn't realized, it is unnecessary and utterly stupid...For example, all Adobe software is using Alt + Scroll to zoom. After releasing the Alt, it activates the menu. For what? For what in this word?? Why would be any person that dumb to press Alt and activate the menu?? There is F10 for that if anybody is a menu-keyboard nerd.Yet there is not

I want to disable the menu activation via the Alt key

This feature, the menu activation via the Alt key is super annoying, unusable and always interferes with normal work. I'm using Adobe software, and there are some functions that work with the pressed Alt key. For example zooming or when activating alternate
functions, the Alt key must be pressed and need to be hold. When releasing, windows activates the menu. I don't need this at all, I never used the menu activation via the Alt key. There is the F10 for activate the menu.

Hey guys I'm having problem with my keyboard on my ducky shine II, whenever I press alt with the windows key disabled it starts showing start menu, it didn't happen before and I'm having problem playing dota 2 whenever I use shortcuts with alt. anyone can help me out?



edit: lol I found a fix. I was turning dip 2 instead of dip 3 when turning off windows key since dip 2 exchange alt and windows key lololol. close thread please.

 

Alt+Shift activates menu - an upleasant annoyance of AU version

The default key combination for switching keyboard layouts is Alt+Shift. Unfortunately, after Anniversary Update Windows often activates the current window's menu bar when one presses Alt+Shift. More precisely, it does switch the keyboard layout, but at the same time it treats Alt+Shift combination as a single Alt hit - it activates the menu bar. This happens in about 9 cases out of 10. This is extremely annoying, since in the middle of typing some text after switching keyboard layout I suddenly discover that the text I type is now interpreted as menu shortcuts.

If I make sure that I press Alt and Shift perfectly simultaneously, it usually works as before (no menu is activated), but in real life it is not possible to hit these keys with perfect simultaneity all the time.

Older versions of Windows (including pre-AU Windows 10) were handling this situation more gracefully. They understood that Alt+Shift combination had special meaning and that there's no need to activate the menu in response to Alt+Shift. But not anymore.

I can probably teach myself to use Win+Space combination for switching keyboards, which does not suffer from this issue. But Alt+Shift has always felt more convenient for me.
